It is quite remarkable that the proposed Hekima University is investing in programs and human formation processes that are exactly suited to the demands of the 21st-century global educational apostolate and beyond. The proposed university prides itself in and enjoys a network of Jesuit schools throughout the world dedicated to the belief that God can be found in every culture, within every socio-economic and political level, in every person’s religious search, and in all life.
All schools in the Jesuit apostolate, the proposed Hekima University included, are dedicated to forming young minds and personalities into leaders who bring about reconciliation through justice and compassionate care for all creation. All Jesuit and non-Jesuit educational institutions throughout the world form a readily available, sustainable, and reliable platform for partnership and collaboration in terms of professional personnel, exchange programs, financial and non-financial resources, and research.
The proposed university shall by all means engage local communities through its outreach program and other well-designed engagement strategies such as practical coding lessons for children and young people. Such engagements are expected to not only encourage growth for the university and the community but also create trust among citizens, potential consumers, and partners. On the other hand, the proposed university will engage program-specific partners and collaborators with and through whom programs, physical infrastructure, innovative research, and professional courses can be funded and implemented. Some of the envisioned partners and collaborators include relevant Regional Government Sectors and Parastatals especially the Ministries of Education, Professional bodies such as Engineering boards, and Research and Innovation bodies. Partners in the private sector institutions include the Fourth Industrial Revolution big five: Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Amazon, International Business Machines, and local big data vendors such as Safaricom and relevant local industries.
